Multi-Nutrient Fertilizer with Low Environmental Impact & Carbon Footprint

Polysulphate, is a naturally occurring mineral with a low carbon footprint, ideal for all types of crops and soils

introduction

polysulphate is a new fertilizer mined it its natural state in the uk. it is unique because it supplies four nutrients: sulphur, magnesium, potassium and calcium and because it is soluble, those nutrients are readily available for plant uptake.

polysulphate comes from the polyhalite layer of rock, over 1000m below the north sea off the north yorkshire coast in the uk. deposited 260 million years ago, it lies 150-170 m below the potash seam at the boulby mine, which is now the world’s first operational polyhalite mine.

polysulphate (chemical formula : k2ca2mg(so4)4•2(h2o) – it is not a salt), is the mineral ‘polyhalite’, (dehydrate), which is a single crystal complex with 2 molecules of water and one of a family of evaporite minerals containing potassium.

uses

polysulphate is available as both granules and powder. it can be applied in many ways (as a straight fertilizer, in blends or as a constituent in compound fertilizers). the 2-4mm granular product has excellent spreading characteristics and is an ideal fertilizer when applied with straight nitrogen . it contains few impurities, just 5% sodium chloride and can be applied to sensitive crops

polysulphate has a low carbon footprint. it delivers dependable high value with low environmental impact and is certified for organic use in countries such as the uk, france, germany, italy, usa and canada.

polysulphate contains:

  • 48% so3 (19.2% s) as sulphate
  • 14% k2o (11.6% k) as sulphate of potassium
  • 6% mgo (3.6% mg) as magnesium sulphate
  • 17% cao (12.2% ca) as calcium sulphate

polysulphate is suitable for all crops and all types of soils. it has neutral ph,

a very low salinity index and good, uniform spreadability in the field (up to 36 m (120 ft).

it is a natural product that is mined, crushed, screened and bagged.

every one of the hundreds of polysulphate trials conducted over the past ten years

has shown that polysulphate performs equally well or better than the best standard alternatives. it is a proven effective, multi-nutrient fertilizer providing prolonged release

of sulphur and low risk of leaching in high rainfall areas and sandy soils.
