IMO Certification for Social Responsibility to Israel’s Stockton Group

The Israeli Stockton group of companies, which specializes in the development, production and marketing of environmentally-friendly pesticides for crop protection, recently received "For Life" certification from the IMO for its social responsibility and equitable business management.

The Israeli Stockton group of companies, which specializes in the development, production and marketing of environmentally-friendly pesticides for crop protection, recently received “For Life” certification from the IMO (Institute for Market Ecology) Control certification institute in Switzerland, for its social responsibility and equitable business management. Stockton thus became the first Israeli pest-control company to receive this certification.

This certification confirms that Stockton’s employees worldwide enjoy fair and safe working conditions, which encompass all the principal aspects of their work, ranging from standard workers’ rights to good employment conditions. Granting the “For Life” certification called for the assessment and endorsement of Stockton’s overall environmental performance in addition to an evaluation of its influence on the business environment in which its operates.

Other areas checked were the company’s commitment to working as a responsible employee that promotes sustainable procedures, and fair practices with respect to the environment, its customers and business partners. Ziv Tirosh, Stockton’s CEO, stated that all major companies seek to establish themselves in the domain of sustainability, not just as “green” companies. In this area, Stockton not only leads the field worldwide when it comes to green pest control, but also relates to concerns for society, ecology and health. “This certification has clear economic value but apart from this value I believe in its considerable importance also for the company internally, as the company aspires to make social thinking an integral part of Stockton’s DNA”, so noted Tirosh as he continued: “Obtaining certification marked the successful culmination of a process, which began several months ago, following our work with IMO Control the international inspection body in Switzerland that grants certification after completing comprehensive evaluation procedures.

We are pleased that Stockton has become the first Israeli company working in the field of pest control to receive this certification, and thereby join the premier league of leading global companies in the chemicals and food industries that includes such multinational corporations as Coca Cola, Cisco, McDonalds and many others.”

IMO (Institute for MarketEcology) provides quality assurance for durable products, in addition to reliable quality control services as well as certification for organic products, which are ecologically friendly and distinguished by social responsibility. The certification awards are granted after completing comprehensive evaluation procedures, and ensuring that the product or the company concerned meets the specified criteria. The certification is important as it differentiates between the product or company receiving it and its competitors, thereby giving it a definite advantage in the market place.
