Israeli Agro-Industrial Park will be established in Belarus

The future Industrial park will advance the opening of an independent body for the agricultural produce

Israel’s Agriculture Minister Yair Shamir accompanied by delegation visited Belarus and toured around Orsha and Tolochin Districts, where the two parties thinking of setting up the Belarusian-Israeli agro-industrial park.

The future Industrial park will advance the opening of an international independent certification body for the agricultural produce in order to be able to supply it to the EU and other markets. The future park will produce eco-friendly products which is highly popular on the global market.

Israel-Belarus Agricultural Cooperation

The purpose of the visit was to strengthen agricultural cooperation between the two countries; to establish the continued activities by Israeli companies in the field of agriculture in the country; and even to expand it.
The operation of Israeli companies in Belarus will help the further development of trade relations and business contacts in Russia and Kazakhstan, since at the present time steps are being taken towards economic unification between the three countries.

Sharing Israeli Agricultural Technologies

During the visit, also suggested that Belarus could be assisted by Israeli know-how and Israeli researchers for the benefit of the subjects which are important for his colleagues in Belarus to promote, such as: developing varieties of wheat; improving methods of storing grains for human consumption and animal feed; and developing new species of fruits and vegetables, by means of using Israeli technology, and with the assistance of researchers from the Volcani Institute at the Ministry of Agriculture.

Presently, Israeli companies operate in Belarus on a number of agricultural projects in the fields of dairy, poultry, pig farming and fisheries.
